We will have 6 teams of 12-14 people. This allows for 7 players per team on the field, and 5-7 subs. Teams will be drawn randomly after registration has closed and all registered players have completed our skills survey. This will be done a day or two prior to the tournament.
We will follow the UPA 11th Edition Rules.
IMPORTANT: You need to bring your own light and dark t-shirts. Please don't use grey.
The MPSD Soccer Complex has 3 fields, and we will be using all 3 concurrently. We are using a round-robin format, meaning each team will play every other team once. This means 5 games for each team.
The first team to score 13 points wins. When the first team scores 7 points, there will be a 10-minute half-time break. Games will be no longer than 75 minutes in length. We will be using a soft cap and hard cap system to enforce the time limit.
The soft cap will come at the 65 minute mark (10 minutes left). When the horn blows for the soft cap, the score of the leading team plus 2 will be the new goal. For example, if Team A is leading Team B by a score of 10-9 and the soft cap sounds, then the game will be played to 12, or the hard-cap, whichever comes first.
The hard cap will come at the 70 minute mark (5 minutes left). When the horn blows for the hard cap, the point currently in play will be continued, and then the game will end. If the final point results in a tie, one more point will be played to determine the winner.
There will be a 15-minute break between each game, and 45 minutes for lunch after Game 2. The schedule is as follows:
After all games have been played, the team with the best win/loss record will be crowned CHAMPIONS, and their name shall be sung throughout the lands and their portraits hung in the stars. If there is a tie, the first tie-breaker shall be most points scored, the second tie-breaker shall be fewest points allowed, the third tie breaker shall be a coin toss.
